Description: Jestico + Whiles’ hotel in the capital, Bratislava provides the country’s first modern, serviced hotel-apartments, with facilities including a sauna, gym and conference room.
The hotel occupies a 1930s Constructivist building in the Palisady district. The design process comprised exhaustive negotiation with the local Heritage Authority, due to the sensitive nature of the historic enclosure, of which the façade arrangement and characteristic details had to be carefully preserved.
The interiors set off a stark architectural backdrop and cubic furniture with sensuous, tactile details and bold colours. The elegant etched glass and stainless-steel walls in the reception area are softened by a deep-yellow leather reception desk, and lighting in tones of orange and yellow.
