Bow Street Police Museum

Famous for the Bow Street Runners, this Grade II listed, former police station is adjacent to Covent Garden Opera House. The design comprised the conversion of the building into the London Police Museum. The museum has been designed to encourage a greater understanding of policing, and includes a variety of interactive exhibition spaces, including emergency policing rescue and courtroom dramas. The design of the existing elegant stone building wraps around a central courtyard with a new glazed steel structure inserted into the centre of the existing building to provide a shop, restaurant, improved access facilities and a new rear extension with offices. The project was not realised.
