Axe Street
Comprising 96 affordable apartments, Axe Street, is a sophisticated new residential development and an integral part of the wider regeneration of Barking Town Centre. The design is characterised by the bold façade, which dramatically changes in scale. External materials are refined and well considered, consisting of brick, glass and copper. The reveals of recessed balconies and terraces are finished in varying colours, which enliven the façade and wider street scene. The development achieved an EcoHomes rating of “Very Good” and the apartments meet Lifetime Homes Standards. The external walls, windows and roofs all have U-values that exceed Building Regulation Standards.
