Accelerate into University Exhibition

20.03.2018

The Accelerate into University exhibition, running all this week, showcases the architectural experiments and design processes of young people across London who have been part of the Accelerate into University programme.

Accelerate into University is a widening participation programme organised by Open City and run in partnership with The Bartlett School of Architecture.

This year, 32 students from London participated from backgrounds that are under-represented in the building design professions. Skill development workshops were taught focusing on mapping, sketching, model-making techniques, recording skills and application advice. The students also spent four months receiving mentoring sessions from ten different architectural practices, including here at Jestico + Whiles.

Through the Accelerate programme the students gain an insight into both university and working life as an architect, develop skills not taught in schools that are relevant to studying the built environment and produce a presentation piece for their portfolio ahead of their university applications.

The exhibition runs until 28 March, held at the ground floor of The Bartlett.
