Aperture: our Clerkenwell Design Week installation

24.05.2018

As part of the ninth annual Clerkenwell Design Week, an interactive installation created by Jestico + Whiles using PORCELANOSA's next generation material, Krion was on display at our Clerkenwell studio.

The installation was a study of aperture and light. It took inspiration from the rich history of Clerkenwell and was a sculptural homage to George Eastman's Kodak factory, which was situated in Clerkenwell in the late 19th century. An immersive sculpture experimenting with light, form and perspective, it comprised 64 fins of Krion which were dynamically lit, creating a unique visual experience.

To celebrate this collaboration, on 23rd May Jestico + Whiles and PORCELANOSA hosted the discussion 'The Rough with the Smooth: Texture and Materiality in Hospitality Design', with Emma O'Kelly of Wallpaper* magazine chairing the talk, and Constantina Tsoutsikou (Hirsch Bedner Associates), Javier Rodriguez (PORCELANOSA) and James Dilley (Jestico + Whiles) speaking.
