Aperture wins at the Darc Awards 2018

21.12.2018

We are delighted to announce that our Aperture installation has won an award at the 2018 Architectural Darc Awards in the Best Light Art Scheme category (low budget). The shortlist for the category included strong contenders and featured installations from Hoare Lea, Artec3 Studio, Arup and Jason Bruges Studio.

Our Aperture installation is a serene and immersive visual experience created for the ninth annual Clerkenwell Design Week. The form of the sculpture takes inspiration from the George Eastman Kodak factory, which was located in Clerkenwell at the end of the 19th century. The fins are produced from 64 Porcelanosa Krion, and have slowly decreasing apertures. Dynamic, coloured light travels along the underside of the form, illuminating the soft internal curves. This creates a mesmerising shift in perspective and the sculpture takes on an organic life. You can view a video of it here.
