Join us at our virtual lunchtime talk as part of London Festival of Architecture

26.05.2021

Join us at our virtual lunchtime talk on Thursday 10 June, 12.30pm as part of the London Festival of Architecture 2021 programme.

Care, arising from the basic human need for social interaction, has been a casualty of our modern age, exacerbated by a pandemic. In response, Jestico + Whiles has developed a proposal for a new cultural and social focus whereby those of all backgrounds can come together and interact with the shared purpose of learning.

The increasingly redundant department stores of our high streets are perfectly placed to accommodate this activity. Department stores, previously our “Palaces of Consumption” will become “Palaces of Learning.” Or, more modestly, inclusive, trans-generational Learning Stores.

Jestico + Whiles will present this idea in conversation with Senior Lecturer Dr. Mirsini Trigoni, who has a keen interest in the relationship between our commercial spaces and target audiences and whose expertise straddles the field of interior design and visual communication.
