Jestico + Whiles is very proud to announce our participation in the new scholarship programme, the Bartlett Promise, in partnership with The Bartlett Faculty of The Built Environment at UCL.
Architecture needs to be more inclusive and the Jestico + Whiles Bartlett Promise Scholarship aims to play a role in positive change by enabling a student from an under-represented background to pursue an undergraduate Architecture BSc degree. The scholarship, the first by an architecture practice, will fully cover fees and living costs for the recipient over the three-year degree course, starting in the 2020/21 Academic Year.
We are particularly proud as this news closely follows Jestico + Whiles’ award for BD Architectural Employer of the Year.
“Jestico + Whiles believes the best and brightest minds should be able to access education, whatever their background or financial standing but the financial burden of studying architecture can be an insurmountable obstacle for many. Through this special initiative at The Bartlett we intend to make a life-changing difference for an aspiring architect and set a great precedent for how the profession can begin to address the challenge. We are conscious that further education, and architectural education in particular, can be a daunting experience and so Jestico + Whiles will also offer mentoring and use of its studio facilities.”
