Marie Carlisle co founder of Goldfinger joined us in the studio for the third talk in our ongoing Laboratory series.
In a conversation chaired by Jestico + Whiles' Lauris Svarups, she discussed developing new supply chains to source locally grown timber (Britain is the second biggest importer of wood in the world, importing almost 90% of all its timber in 2020), and making use of felled trees across London which would otherwise be chipped and burned.
We also learned about how they developed their manifesto 'from tree to table', bringing people together around the table, through their monthly People's Kitchen, providing free meals to older and vulnerable members of the local community surrounding Trellick Tower.
