Meeting of minds at Sri Lanka HQ

Jestico + Whiles has completed an extension of the British Council's headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In collaboration with local architecture practice Design Forum, Jestico + Whiles has delivered a 'cohesive' facility for staff and the thousand visitors who use the HQ daily. The new additions include a library, a multipurpose hall and a customer services facility. The design responds to the British Council's ambition to promote British culture while forging lasting international relationshiops. Its scheme aims to reflect the best of British design while 'respecting the cultural context in which is is located'.
