Heinz is the managing director of Jestico + Whiles and has particular expertise in sustainable design, education, housing and historic buildings and has been responsible for many award-winning urban regeneration schemes. He believes passionately in the considered use of the earth’s natural resources to create architecture which is enduring, delightful and socially responsible.
He is ultimately responsible along with fellow board directors for leading the practice in all aspects of client service, design excellence and business resilience. Heinz has lectured widely, both here and abroad and been a Civic Trust Awards assessor and an advisor to the Homes and Community Agencies Design and Sustainability Panel. He was invited to become a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts in 2010.
Heinz has designed several innovative low-energy projects and has considerable expertise in the areas of low-energy design and sustainability and has lectured widely on the subject.
In 2013 he was part of a group of cyclists that rode over 4500 miles from Portland Oregon to Portland Place in London raising money for Article 25 and the ABS.
