Julian Dickens
Associate Director


Julian joined Jestico + Whiles in 1996 and became an associate director in 2014.

Julian’s completed buildings include the £35m RIBA and BCI award-winning National Graphene Institute for the University of Manchester, £55m RIBA and AIA award-winning Mountbatten Building for the University of Southampton, £45m Australian Institute of Nanoscience for the University of Sydney, and the Centre for Advanced Studies in Cuba. Currently he is working on the £176m Cavendish III Laboratory for the University of Cambridge.

He also brings a wealth of experience from other sectors, with built projects including the £30m Aloft hotel in London docklands, £13m Timber Wharf housing in the London Borough of Hackney and two state of the art data centre campuses in northern Europe. He has been a visiting tutor at London Metropolitan University and has been invited to lecture at various universities and conferences across the UK and Australia.

Julian jointly leads the practice’s higher education, science and technology studio and has a proven track record of delivering high quality award-winning architecture across a wide range of complex and challenging projects in the UK and abroad.
