351 Caledonian Road

This flagship mixed-use scheme for Telford Homes takes advantage of the unique characteristics of a challenging rail-side site, which includes a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) and a vacant Conservation Area plot along Caledonian Road.

The development provides 156 high quality sustainable homes, 60 of which are affordable, within extensive landscaping and public amenity. It regenerates the railway site at the edge of the King’s Cross masterplan, and targets Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5.

The proposals comprise seven residential buildings in a linear configuration alongside the railway, and a series of standalone pavilions integrated within an enhanced SINC area.

The buildings are composed of interlocking forms clad in brick and glazed ceramic tiles, with metal patterned fretwork detailing which evokes local historic wrought ironwork. Climbing plants, green walls and green roofs integrate the landscape and built form.
