In 2010 Jestico + Whiles was invited to take part in an architectural competition for a redevelopment of the Porsche showroom at 68-70 High Street, Stratford, London. In 2012 the project received planning permission from the Olympic Delivery Authority and London Borough of Newham for a mixed use development comprising two commercial units, a gymnasium, external play areas and 173 dwellings.
The development was split into three buildings of 18, 9 and 5-storeys, arranged as two L-shaped forms around a central landscaped courtyard above a car park.
This design provides active frontage to all sides of the site with commercial units facing the High Street.
