Hakkasan is a successful and innovative restaurant by Alan Yau, founder of the Wagamama and Yauatcha restaurants. Situated behind Tottenham Court Road, the restaurant is accessed by a discreet entrance leading into a stunning interior, expertly designed with a striking play of light and shadow.

The practice collaborated with the renowned French designer, Christian Liaigre, to create a distinctly modern aesthetic in a traditional Chinese style.

The restaurant seats 130 guests enclosed with a delicate dark wood and glass screen, containing antique lacquered panels and lit by silk lanterns suspended from an overhead metal mesh ceiling. Delicate dark wood screens and sumptuous silk-upholstered leather seating enclose the restaurant, and strips of linen slate form a dramatic back drop of activity on both sides of the bar.
