Jestico + Whiles completed the full refurbishment of the landmark Myslbek Building in the heart of Prague’s Old Town.
A dramatic series of spaces were created, building on the concept of the mechanical ‘gate’ façade which dynamically moves and changes position throughout the day.
Sleek polished white surfaces are dramatically set against a black backdrop of the building itself. Subtle lighting inset into the surface finishes visually connect to floating light sculptures, creating incredible reflections and a feel of changing space.
The design also incorporates beautiful tactile elements such as polished and textured concrete walls, living plant walls, and plush profiled ceilings.
This phased refurbishment included lobby spaces, office entrance zones, public conveniences and also the main entrance to the retail mall. Visual connectivity with the adjacent streetscapes dramatically enhanced the commercial and aesthetic qualities of the overall complex, revitalising the office and retail areas and giving the whole Myslbek complex a new lease of life.
