University of Cambridge West Hub / Jestico Whiles

The University of Cambridge’s West Cambridge Hub is a dynamic building located at the heart of the campus, providing communal spaces and resources for all of its members as well as outreach opportunities for local community members.

The scheme, which is designed to connect people from different departments of the university, will incorporate teaching and meeting rooms, learning resource areas, catering outlets and offices.

The project is part of the university’s vision to transform West Cambridge into a lively research campus, including the new Cavendish III laboratory which the practice is also designing.

The hub accommodates the interactions of site users and the demanding scientific processes they are involved in.

In addition to contributing to the wider development of the campus, the new facility will provide an inspiring place for working, learning, dining and meeting with friends and colleagues.

'Jestico + Whiles is a creative and inventive practice that works collaboratively with its client, achieving outstanding work grounded in technical excellence and value for money.'

Luigi Scalera, Project Manager, University of Cambridge.
