After finishing his studies in South Africa, Pieter moved to the UK in 1999. He worked on a wide variety of large-scale projects around the world before joining Jestico + Whiles, where he works as part of the hospitality group with a focus on hotels and F&B.
Pieter has led the design and delivery of several high-profile projects in the UK. Among these are the Bulgari hotel bar and restaurant in Knightsbridge, and One Aldwych hotel on The Strand, a grade II listed building. More recently he has completed the long-awaited W Edinburgh project, a new 244 key hotel in the heart of Edinburgh New Town.
A strong communicator, Pieter excels at working with clients to understand their needs and drive intelligent design concepts in commercial settings. He has a particular interest in sustainable design.
Outside of his work on the hospitality team, Pieter plays a key role in the practice’s involvement in the annual Clerkenwell Design Week.
